Pauline was a woman who was homeless and always took great care of her appearance when she could. Here are some extracts from letters we received:
“Thank you for coming to see me…Could you get me a bright pink lipstick, cream blue eye shadow and a black mascara with a brush on the end. Also a bottle of Sunsilk shampoo for greasy hair. I would get these things myself only I have no money.” “…I have some coloured felt pens and papers which I will draw pictures with …please bring a couple of big skirts – not old fashioned, or even a medium size 16 dress and a pair of shoes. I will be able to try them on and which ever ones fit I will keep and the ones that don’t you can take back.”
