Michael

Michael is in his fifties and became homeless through drink. He has been sleeping rough for the last two years. This is how he sees his life now when asked to describe it:

“In the gutter”

“As far down as I can go”

“Disgusted with myself in every aspect”

“Ashamed to be seen having spent so many nights on the street”

“Thrown out of the hospital at 4am”

“I’m in despair”

“Hunted around the place by security guards”

“Remarks that are hurtful”

“Mentally and physically broken”

“No money for two weeks”
